Morisset Rotary continues its proud support of the Heaven Can Wait (HCW) Charity Sailing Regatta, a much-loved local event that combines community spirit with life-changing impact.
This year, 50 yachts will take to the water, continuing a 20-year tradition that has now raised more than $820,000 for the NSW Cancer Council.
As a long-standing primary sponsor, Morisset Rotary was honoured to be recognised recently for its continued support. 2025-26 Club President Peter Comino proudly accepted a Silver Sponsor Certificate of Appreciation from Tim Turner (Toronto Sunrise Rotary and HCW Committee Member).
Supporting Those Who Need It Most
Funds raised this year included:
- $75,000 to the Cancer Council
- $5,000 to Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie
These contributions make a real difference locally.
Cancer Council funding directly supports the Home Help Service in the Hunter Region, assisting local residents undergoing cancer treatment. The service provides a one-off $350 payment to help cover household bills and everyday expenses—easing the financial burden during an incredibly challenging time.
In addition, funds support the Transport to Treatment Program, where volunteer drivers help patients attend medical appointments. Last year alone, this service provided 2,078 trips, ensuring patients could access essential care.
How the Community can help.
Every Morisset Rotary fundraiser plays a part in making this support possible.
So when you:
- Grab a sausage at a Bunnings BBQ
- Buy a ticket in an online meat raffle
- Support the Christmas raffle
- Attend a Morisset Rotary fundraising event
—you are directly helping provide practical, meaningful assistance to people in your community.
