Domestic Violence Phones

DV Phones

We are collecting and fundraising for mobile phones that allow victims of  violence to get help and escape.

You Can Support People Affected By Violence

Have you ever wondered what you can do to support people affected by domestic or family violence?
You may not be able to save a life or personally help a person or family in danger due to domestic violence but chances are you have an old mobile phone at home that might just help do that.
People in domestic violence situations often lose access to their mobile phone or may need to have a phone with a new number.
The Rotary Club of Morisset is collecting old (but still working) mobile phones to donate to DV Safe Phone, a national project helping provide safe mobile phone connections for victims of domestic violence.

If you can remove any passwords or pin codes from your old phone and preferably do a “restore” to wipe your data from it (although the project will do this if you cant) your phone can be serviced and repurposed to someone in crisis. Please make sure your phone is unlocked and if possible has a charger with it.
We will be placing a collection box in a range of handy locations over the next few months.

You Can Help

Right now the collection box has moved from Morisset High School and is located in the Office at Catalina Lake Macquarie in Deaves Road, Cooranbong and will be there for the next 4 weeks.
We will update you each time we move the collection box to a new location in our area.
C’mon, you know you are never going to use those old phones you have been hoarding but DV Safe Phone sure will
