Hearts and Hands Charity Bike Ride & BBQ
Hearts and Hands are a Lake Macquarie-based charity, and one of our programmes is around child protection awareness. On Sunday 14th September we have a bike ride (motor bike) to assemble at Croudace Bay and conclude at Rathmines after riding around the lake. This is an annual event based on the National Child Protection Awareness Day which is on 12th September.
Morisset Rotary has agreed to provide the barbecue lunch from around 12 – 2 on Sunday 14th Sept.
Members are also invited to attend a free function at Rathmines Theatre on the 12th, registration is necessary via QR code, and it is open to the public.
Our child protection awareness programme was officially recognised and launched in 2015 by Director Janet Vickers, and in NSW state Parliament. In 2023 it was recognised and declared a National event in Federal Parliament. It is based on the premise that Every Conversation Matters because Every Child Matters and It’s not Ok to hurt a child. With a ribbon that has umbrellas as a symbol of protection and bright orange as a happy cheery colour that children deserve to be.
